She hopes to be able to train and compete in an Iron Man competition.
Monica has shown exceptional motivation in the physical activity portion of the Live Healthy Dallas challenge. To date, Monica has logged 169 hours of physical activity. If that sounds like an enormous amount of hours, that is because it is! Broken down over the 11 weeks, Monica has logged some type of physical activity for 15.5 hours per week or just over 2 hours per day. Typically, Monica hits the gym in the mornings prior to work. However, on days when she is super motivated, she may hit the gym or the treadmill in the evenings for a daily second workout. Monica's favorite activities are spin classes and jogging. In fact, Monica participated in a 5K race just this past weekend. In addition to working out and eating healthy, Monica is married and is the mother of two young boys, ages 3 years and 13 months. Whew!!! Just typing all of that makes me tired!
Obviously, all of that working out has helped Monica reach her weight loss goals. She started back in October and has lost a total of 35 lbs so far. She currently has plans to participate with other Children's Biggest Losers! teammates on May 3rd to run a half marathon. As her boys get older, she hopes to be able to train and compete in an Iron Man competition.
As a Children's Biggest Losers! team member, Monica always attends weekly team luncheons and shares a couple of fitness tips. Once monthly, Monica has created and distributed a Children's Biggest Losers! Newsletter complete with photographs, fitness tips, success stories, recipes, etc. Our team is amazed by Monica's achievements and simply cannot figure out when she has time to sleep. Monica tells us that the more she works out, the more energy she has. We are truly excited to have Monica as a team member and inspired by her tenacity.
